how to play question darts
step 1
Map the board
Segments 1-5: fun questions. 6-10: memory lane. 11-15: deep. 16-20: spicy. Bullseye: ask your partner absolutely anything.
step 2
Throw and answer
Alternate single throws; whatever you hit, you answer from that category (grab questions from our decks or improvise). Misses off-board earn a dare instead.
step 3
Double to deflect
Hit a double and you may bounce the question back to the thrower... who must answer AND take the next throw.
step 4
Play to a story
First to have answered one question from every category wins - a format that guarantees range instead of everyone camping on 'fun'.
🎯 the seven formats
- 1. Around the clock: hit 1 through 20 in order; first to 20 wins. The purest race.
- 2. Killer: each claims a number, five lives; hitting your partner's number costs them a life. Personal in the best way.
- 3. 301: classic countdown, must finish exactly. The serious one.
- 4. Question darts: full rules above - the conversation engine.
- 5. Closest to bull: sudden-death decider for any argument too small for words (whose turn to cook, which movie).
- 6. HORSE-style trick shots: call your shot (left hand, over the shoulder, eyes on your partner); miss earns a letter.
- 7. The handicap ladder: stronger player throws weak hand, or stands two steps further, until win rates near 50/50. Fairness keeps darts fun for years.
