Playing any action card (skip, reverse, draw two, wild) lets you ask your partner one question from the color's category - grab them from our decks or improvise.

Draw-four confessional
The +4 victim answers one question of the player's choosing while drawing. Cruelty and intimacy, perfectly balanced.

Match stakes
Best of five; loser does the dishes, plans the next date, or grants one wish. UNO called on the winning card doubles the stakes - house law.
🃏 house rules worth adopting at two
- 1. Reverse = play again (official at 2p, and the whole personality of the duel).
- 2. Stacking: +2 on +2 passes the growing pile - banned in tournaments, mandatory in kitchens.
- 3. 7-0 rule at two players: playing a 7 or 0 forces a hand swap - devastating and hilarious.
- 4. Jump-in doubles: holding the identical card lets you slam it out of turn and steal the turn.
- 5. The mercy rule: down 0-3 in the series, the trailing player starts the next game with one card fewer.
- 6. False UNO fine: catching a missed 'UNO!' costs the offender two cards and one compliment to the catcher.

Any online UNO app or mirrored physical decks on a call (honor system) works; keep the question layer - it's the part that makes it a date instead of screen time.
the marathon ladder
Running score across weeks: first to 10 game wins claims a pre-agreed grand prize (that restaurant, that gadget under a set budget). Long arcs breed magnificent pettiness.

Official two-player rules: normal UNO, except Reverse works like Skip - the player goes again. Everything else stands, including draw penalties and calling UNO at one card. The house rules above (stacking, 7-0 swaps) make the duel meaner and better.
